While democratic institutions weaken before our eyes, PB CLE believes democracy is worth fighting for. And we’re launching that fight right here in Cleveland through our People’s Budget pilot. Since our all-hands meeting last month in Slavic Village, we’ve made substantial progress towards launching the project.

Through the six month PB pilot, residents in one Cleveland neighborhood will propose ideas and make decisions on how to allocate $ to projects in their neighborhood through a participatory budgeting voting process. PB CLE’s neighborhood selection committee is currently in the process of selecting a neighborhood! More than 30 people nominated neighborhoods to host the people's budget pilot.

Nominated neighborhoods include Mt. Pleasant, Slavic Village, Woodland Hills, Glenville, Lee Seville, Lee Harvard, Central/Kinsman, Buckeye, Union Miles, Detroit Shoreway/Cudell, and Edgewater. We will announce the selected neighborhood soon!
